The Elmwood Cemetery is partnering with MoBikeFed and other community partners to present an unforgettable bike rodeo and youth bicycle giveaway on May 6th, 2023. This event promises to be a fun-filled day with various activities for kids and families to enjoy while promoting safe cycling practices.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us on event day. As a volunteer, you can assist kids with fitting helmets, matching bicycles to youth, and adjusting the bicycles to fit. We are prepared to give away bicycles and helmets to area youth. RevolveKC has prepared the bicycles, which are generally in good working order and ready to ride. However, sometimes minor adjustments or fixes are needed, and that’s where our volunteers come in. You’ll be helping to ensure that each child has a safe and comfortable bike to ride and a properly fitting helmet.
The bike rodeo will also feature fun activities and challenges for kids. This is an excellent opportunity for families to spend time together, get some exercise, and learn about bike safety. We encourage everyone to bring their bikes and helmets and join in on the fun.
